Due to the varying nature of servicing and repair work on musical instruments, and the fact that most of the work is labour based, it is difficult to give an exact pricing schedule. However we have come up with the table below which gives an approximate price range including GST
FRENCH HORN REPAIRS : Most french horn repairs are due to damage, dents in slides, valve casing, tubing and bell sections are the most common. This type of repair can be done at any time without a full service, however, often when tubing is worked on from the inside, it will dislodge dirt from the inside of the walls, and then the instrument will also need servicing.
FRENCH HORN SERVICING : Strip down the instrument, clean all parts with ultrasonic cleaner, clean, realign slides inner and outer, Reassemble with new stop arm corks replacing strings & felts as neccessary, remove dents, Play test
LUBRICANTS : A good quality Synthetic lubricant has surfaced as being the best option for BRASS VALVES. These lubricants are non toxic and are a great option for sticky valves where nothing else works. Synthetic oils can’t be mixed with any other oil type, so start fresh with a completely serviced instrument and you wont regret it. We recommend ULTRA PURE, LA-TROMBA and YAMAHA have just released a synthetic oil with 3 different viscosities
